Online check-in with United Airlines is quick, easy, and helps you avoid long lines at the airport. You can start checking in 24 hours before your scheduled flight time. To check in online, go to the United Airlines website or use the United mobile app. You’ll need to enter your confirmation number and last name or use your MileagePlus account. Once you log in to your reservation, you can confirm your flight, choose or change your seat, pay for checked baggage, and even update your passport or visa information if you're flying internationally.
After completing check-in, you can download your boarding pass to your phone, email it to yourself, or print it at home. If you are not checking a bag, you can head straight to the security checkpoint with your mobile or printed boarding pass. If you do have checked baggage, make sure to arrive at the airport early and drop your bags off at the United bag drop area or use a self-service kiosk. United recommends dropping checked bags at least 45 minutes before domestic flights and 60 minutes before international flights.
If you're unable to check in online, United also provides self-service kiosks at most airports. These machines allow you to check in, select or change your seat, print your boarding pass, and tag your bags. If you need personal assistance or are traveling with special requirements, you can visit the check-in counter where an agent can help.
For travelers flying in United Polaris, First, or Business Class—or for MileagePlus Premier members—there are special priority lines to speed up the check-in process. It’s a good idea to check in as soon as the 24-hour window opens to get better seat choices and prepare for your trip without stress.
Checking in online saves time, helps you skip long airport lines, and gets you one step closer to a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.
